Comment on one of the following statements: “Science is the first thing to be financed in the modern world.” “An early choice of a career path is the key to success.” What is your opinion? Do you agree with the statement?
Write 200–250 words. Follow this plan: make an introduction by paraphrasing the statement; express your personal opinion and give 2–3 reasons; express an opposing opinion and give 1–2 reasons; explain why you do not agree with the opposing opinion; make a conclusion restating your position.

5 шаговChoose one statement and paraphrase it in the introduction. A suitable position is that making a career choice early can contribute to success, but it is not the only condition.
Support the position with two or three arguments: an early decision helps a person set clear goals, choose relevant education and gain experience before entering the labour market.
Present an opposing view: teenagers may not know their real interests, and an early decision may restrict their opportunities or lead to a wrong profession.
Refute this view by explaining that an early choice does not have to be permanent. A person can reconsider their plans, acquire new skills and change careers.
Conclude by restating that an early career choice is useful when it is informed and flexible, but personal effort and the ability to adapt are equally important.
