Dear Andrew,
Thanks for your email. It’s great that you are preparing a surprise for your mum. In Russia, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of November. Children usually congratulate their mothers and give them flowers, cards or small presents. Some families have a festive dinner together, too. I often make a card for my mum and help her around the house. We also celebrate other family holidays, for example, New Year, birthdays and Victory Day. On these occasions, our relatives come to visit us, and we cook something special. What are you going to give your mum? Write back soon!
