A visit
Early the next afternoon, Peter dropped by for a visit. “It’s hot in here,” he said, taking 32 ______ his wet coat and throwing it over the back of a chair. I ran a hand through my hair. It was a Friday afternoon, no class and I hadn’t been out of my room all day. I worked hard translating a Greek poem.
“Dave stopped by last night,” I said. Peter was fanatical about them, but I didn’t like them much. “Just this morning. He drove me to the bank.” Peter reached into his pocket again and took out a sheet of paper covered with numbers. Mechanically, I took the sheet of paper from him.
