The Russian taiga is a unique ecoregion between the frozen tundra in the north, and the more temperate mixed forests in the south. It is also known as the needle-leaf forest or the boreal forest. It is essentially a type of forest A __________, and larches grow.

The park became the first protected object of such level in the European North of Russia. Today, it is a popular destination for whitewater rafting and birdwatching.
