Choose only one of the two project tasks below and write a 200–250-word answer in English. Comment on the survey data and give your opinion. For either task, follow this plan: make an opening statement; select and report 2–3 facts; make 1–2 relevant comparisons and comment on them; outline a problem connected with the subject and suggest a solution; conclude by giving and explaining your opinion.

Task A: Imagine that you are doing a project on why many young Zetlanders choose to major in the humanities. Task B: Imagine that you are doing a project on Zetlanders’ priorities in reading and discussing the news in social networks. For Task B, use the survey results shown in the accompanying pie chart.

Imagine that you are doing a project on why many young Zetlanders choose to major in the humanities. You have found some data on the subject – the results of a survey (see the table below) .

Comment on the survey data and give your opinion on the subject of the project.

Which survey results are the most significant, and what do they show about the respondents’ priorities?

Organise the answer into an introduction, survey-data paragraphs, a problem-and-solution paragraph, and a conclusion. Use comparative language such as the largest proportion, almost twice as many, whereas and significantly fewer.

For Task A, you can argue that choosing a profession should depend on both personal interests and realistic career prospects. Mention that humanities graduates may face strong competition and suggest combining humanities with digital or business skills.
