At the lecture
The opening lecture in Grand Hall was on the subject of British Literature. It was delivered by Professor Carlson. During the summer holidays, Emily and Peter had read all the authors on the assigned list. The list 30 ______ of 20 thick books. So, by the time they took their places in the lecture hall that Tuesday morning, they both felt 31 ______ that they were well prepared. Within moments of Professor Carlson starting his lecture, they both realized that they had done little more than read the texts.
